Duration: 5 hours
Rationale
One of the most significant benefits of technology usage for teachers is asynchronous communication. The Google suite of applications facilitates this communication and includes Google Sites where teachers can create their own websites to post homework and classroom exercises, send messages and other types of information to students and parents, give students prompt feedback and do much more. The ability to create a website for use in the classroom is a “must have” tool for modern day educators.
Workshop Description
This workshop aims to help participants develop skills in creating personalized educational websites for their classes and/or schools. Participants will be introduced to Google Sites, a website “creator” platform from Google Workspace that is easy to use and understand, with no coding required. This hands-on workshop will empower participants as they create and see their completed professional looking websites. Some benefits realized from personalized class/school websites are enhanced communication with students and parents, organizational skills, branding, and improved visibility of educational institutions.
