Workshop Description:
The effective use of videos can be a critical method of engaging students in the course content of the various disciplines, to enhance teaching and learning. Hence, this workshop aims to assist teachers with creating culturally relevant instructional videos and engage them in activities designed to promote best practices in education. Videos can be utilized in several ways to implement a lesson to stimulate and maintain students’ interest. These include to:
- Support and enhance the delivery of course content.
- Facilitate the acquisition of the content of the various disciplines in an asynchronous lesson.
- Assist educators with the production of culturally relevant resources.
- Introduce a lesson, during the course of a lesson or as a culmination activity.
- Reinforce concepts taught in a lesson.
- Assist students with various tasks or assignments which they are required to undertake for homework.
Learning Outcomes:
By attending and participating in this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Produce instructional videos using a variety of multimedia tools.
