WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:     

This interactive, collaborative workshop equips Social Studies educators with practical skills to incorporate Virtual Field Trips (VFTs) as an effective instructional strategy. Participants will explore how immersive technology can transport students to historical landmarks, cultural sites, and geographical wonders without leaving the classroom. Through hands-on exploration, lesson planning, and collaborative discussions, teachers will gain strategies to use VFTs to enhance historical understanding, foster inquiry-based learning, and boost student engagement.

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Understand how to effectively integrate Virtual Field Trips into Social Studies instruction to enhance student engagement and learning.
  • Utilize Virtual Field Trips to create immersive learning experiences that deepen students’ historical and cultural understanding.
  • Design inquiry-based Social Studies lessons incorporating Virtual Field Trips to promote critical thinking and active participation.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate Virtual Field Trip resources that align with curriculum goals and student learning needs.
