TOPIC: Building Internal Capacity

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:
As the duties and responsibilities of school leaders continue to expand, it is imperative that they are intentional and strategic in facilitating capacity building within theirdepartments, year groups, and schools. This workshop is designed to provide school leaders with the tools and strategies necessary to create a culture of empowerment, thereby building capacity and ensuring the continuation of initiatives intended to enhance the school.
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
At the completion of this workshop, participants will
- Define the term Internal Capacity in the context of a school.
- Acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to commence the process of capacity building within their individual contexts.
- Recognise the correlation between capacity building and succession planning.
- Appreciate and articulate the absolute importance of capacity building to continuous school improvement.

School leaders: Coordinators, Senior Teachers, Heads of Department, Deputy Principals and
Principals of all schools.
