WORKSHOP TITLE: Caribbean Coaching Certification Program (CCCP) Level 1

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:
The CCCP is an entry-level, competency-based programme specifically developed by and for Caribbean coaches. As the first level in the Barbados Olympic Association’s Barbados Coaching Pathway Framework, coaches who complete this course will gain valuable knowledge and competence in general coaching principles. Participants will be exposed to information, techniques and strategies for planning and implementing instruction, general coaching principles, including the integration of basic event management to enhance teaching and learning.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:
- Define the role and responsibilities of a coach within the local and regional sporting context.
- Explain the principles of physical literacy and their relevance to athlete development.
- Describe the components of a well-structured training session and the stages of athletic progression.
- Identify key nutritional strategies, rest protocols, and recovery techniques to support athlete performance.
- Understand the importance of clean sport and ethical coaching practices.
- Recognize common safety risks in sport and outline basic injury prevention and recovery strategies.
- Apply coaching pedagogy to effectively plan and deliver instructional sessions tailored to diverse athletes.
- Design and implement sport-specific activities that promote physical activity and skill development.
- Integrate basic event management principles to organize and execute small-scale sporting events.
- Demonstrate the ability to create inclusive, safe, and engaging training environments.
- Exhibit a commitment to ethical coaching standards and fair play.

Physical Education teachers within public and private schools (Primary and Secondary).
