WORKSHOP TITLE: Effective Management & Leadership with a focus on Entrepreneurship

RATIONALE:
Entrepreneurship is a challenging and dynamic journey that requires a multitude of skills, and one of the most critical aspects of entrepreneurial success is effective leadership. Entrepreneurs face numerous decisions on a daily basis, ranging from strategic to operational. As an entrepreneur, developing and honing your leadership skills is essential for achieving long-term success in your business endeavours. Therefore, this workshop is designed to assist entrepreneurs in making informed and timely decisions that align with the overall goals and values of the business. It is also designed to assist entrepreneurs with embracing the role of leadership in their entrepreneurial journey, setting a clear vision, inspiring and motivating others.
WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:
This course will increase understanding and awareness of managing staff and developing leadership skills. Areas to be covered will include theoretical underpinnings to discuss leadership and management, human resource management, recruitment of staff, motivation and reward, conflict resolution and managing self.
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
- Distinguish between the differences between leadership and management.
- Analyse theoretical underpinnings and practical examples in management and leadership.
- Examine the characteristics of successful leader and manager.
- Demonstrate key aspects of management.
- Identify strengths and weaknesses in leadership/management styles.
- Critically analyse their own management/leadership style and its effectiveness.
TARGET PARTICIPANTS:
This program is designed for any person who has an interest in developing and managing a small business or intends to enter entrepreneurship.

Please bring paper, pen, pencil and eraser. You should also bring a laptop or some other technological device.
