TOPIC: Enhancing The Assessment Process: Creating Effective Table of Specifications

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:
The main purpose of this workshop is to guide teachers through the process of creating and utilizing Tables of Specifications. Participants will learn the importance of TOS in the assessment process, explore various components, and engage in hands-on activities to design their own TOS, using various syllabi. The workshop will be delivered using a combination of lectures, group activities, and practical exercises.
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Understand the purpose and benefits of a Table of Specifications.
- Identify the key components of a TOS.
- Develop a TOS for their assessments.
- Align assessments with learning objectives using a TOS.
- Evaluate and revise assessments based on the TOS.
- Identify and correct inaccuracies in an assessment and its corresponding Table of Specifications.
TARGET GROUP: This workshop is designed for:
All Teachers at the secondary and primary levels across all subject areas; with specific focus on new teachers seeking to improve their assessment strategies, experienced teachers looking for a refresher on TOS and Curriculum developers and instructional coaches in other educational institutions.
MATERIALS:
Participants must bring a laptop or any other type of electronic device and calculator.
