DURATION: 3 hours

FACILITATOR: Ms. Gina Burnham

TARGET POPULATION:

Teachers (All Levels and Subjects).

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

  • Contextualize PBL: Articulate how the Project Method, and specifically the "Storytellers" theme, directly supports the goals of the Reimagining Education initiative, particularly the SAVE framework.
  • Differentiate Instruction: Distinguish a meaningful, sustained Project-Based Learning unit from a simple end-of-unit activity.
  • Plan a 6-Week Unit: Design the core structure for a 6-week instructional unit around a strong Driving Question.
  • Develop Assessment Strategies: Identify appropriate formative and summative assessment tools (like rubrics and checklists) to effectively measure both content mastery and skill development (e.g., collaboration, critical thinking).
  • Outline the Project-Based Learning pedagogy and its role in Reimagining Education.
  • Create a draft instructional plan for a 6-week unit ready for development.
  • Formulate a plan for using the Resource Toolkit including planning templates and sample assessment rubrics when planning.
  • Demonstrate a belief in the effectiveness of the Project Method by sharing at least two actions that they will integrate into their daily or weekly planning.
