WORKSHOP TITLE: Introduction to the Diplôme d'études en langue française (DELF)

Workshop Description:
Under the aegis of the OAS-SEDI Project with the government of France Strengthening French Language in the Eastern Caribbean States and Barbados, the Ministry of Education Transformation, Erdiston Teachers’ Training College and the Alliance Française de la Barbade, are pleased to offer this professional development workshop.
The session will introduce teachers of French to the Diplôme d'études en langue française (DELF). Teachers will be actively engaged in activities encompassing various language components (listening, speaking, reading and writing) The DELF certification, designed for non native French speakers, is based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages will certainly boost the confidence and language competence of our students as we continue to develop our global citizens with Bajan roots.
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Explain the levels, structure, and assessment criteria of the DELF.
- Use effective strategies to prepare students for real world tasks and experiences
- Integrate DELF-aligned assessment and practice into the French language curriculum
TARGET PARTICIPANTS:
Teachers of French in secondary schools and other academic institutions
MATERIALS REQUIRED:
Participants are required to bring a laptop or any other type of electronic device. The workshop facilitator will provide all other materials.
