TOPIC: Student-Centered Strategies in the Business Studies Classroom

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:
During this workshop, participants will be exposed to the theoretical underpinnings and student-centered strategies that guide instruction in the classroom. The course will include the following:
- Philosophy underpinning student-centered learning
- What is student-centered learning/teaching
- Benefits of student-centered learning
- Key Principles of student-centered learning
- Student-centered learning strategies in the Business Studies classroom
- Implementing student-centered learning strategies in the classroom
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
By attending and participating in this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Discuss the philosophy underpinning student-centered learning strategies in the classroom
- Discuss the benefits of student-centered learning
- Distinguish between teacher-centered learning strategies and student-centered strategies
- Discuss various types of student-centered learning strategies
TARGET GROUP: Persons who teach Business Studies subjects or who have an interest in the discipline of Business.
MATERIALS: Please bring paper, pen, pencil and eraser. You should also bring a laptop or some other technological device.
