The Little Scientist Studio: Cultivating Curiosity Through Playful STEAM Investigation

WORKSHOP TITLE: The Little Scientist Studio: Cultivating Curiosity Through Playful STEAM Investigation

FACILITATOR: Dr. David F Samuel

DURATION: 5 hours

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:

How can we harness the natural curiosity of our youngest learners to build a strong foundation for scientific thinking? This immersive, hands-on workshop is designed specifically for early childhood educators to answer that question. We will explore the powerful intersection of play-based learning, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Maths), and the principles of Project-Based Learning. Participants will move beyond theory to actively engage in designing learning & mapping emergent & “mini projects”; and practicing simple documentation techniques to make learning visible. This session will empower educators to transform their classrooms into vibrant studios of inquiry, where children’s questions are celebrated, and science becomes an exciting, everyday adventure. Leave feeling inspired, confident, and equipped with practical, actionable strategies to foster the next generation of innovators.
